Hotels in Westborough (MA)

Westborough's story is deeply woven into the fabric of early American history. Originally inhabited by the Nipmuc people, the town was officially incorporated in 1717, quickly establishing itself as a thriving agricultural and milling community. The arrival of the Boston and Worcester Railroad in 1834 marked a turning point, transforming Westborough into a vital commercial and manufacturing hub, particularly known for its boot and shoe factories during the Industrial Revolution. Today, the town has evolved into a premier corporate and tech center, hosting major companies along its I-495 corridor, yet it fiercely protects its historical soul. Culturally, Westborough sits at the intersection of MetroWest's affluent suburban lifestyle and Worcester's diverse urban offerings. The town is divided into several distinct areas, each with its own personality. The Historic Town Common area is the picturesque heart of the community, anchored by the beautiful Westborough Town Hall and surrounded by classic New England architecture. The Route 9 and I-495 corridor represents the commercial spine, home to the Boroughs Mall and numerous dining and hospitality options. For nature enthusiasts, the eastern and western fringes offer conservation lands and reservoirs, providing a green escape. Westborough is famous for its strategic location as a crossroads town, its highly rated public school system, and its proximity to both the intellectual capital of Cambridge and the cultural institutions of Worcester. It is a town that exemplifies the modern Massachusetts landscape: historically grounded, economically dynamic, and community-focused.
