These periods offer pleasantly warm temperatures, minimal rainfall, and fewer crowds, perfect for exploring the city and hiking the Timpa. Summer (July-August) is peak season, with hot, dry weather ideal for beach days at Acireale Beach, but it can be crowded and prices are higher. This is also when many local festivals occur. Winter is mild but wetter, with the spectacular exception of February, when the city erupts in color and creativity for its world-renowned Carnival, a major draw. Off-peak seasons (late autumn and winter, excluding Carnival) see lower hotel rates and a more local pace.
