Best Time to Visit Montvalezan

Winter, from December to April, is the peak season for skiing and snowboarding. December brings magical holiday charm, while January and February offer the best snow conditions, though they are the busiest and most expensive. March provides warmer days and excellent spring skiing. Summer, from June to September, is the second peak season, transforming the snowy slopes into lush hiking and mountain biking trails with wildflowers in full bloom. July and August are ideal for trekking the Little St Bernard Pass, though trails can be busy. The shoulder seasons of May and October to November are off-peak. Many lifts and restaurants close for maintenance, and weather can be highly unpredictable with rain or early snowfall. However, these months offer absolute tranquility and the lowest accommodation rates. Key events include the Fête de la Musique in June, traditional Savoyard festivals in August, and vibrant Christmas markets in December. For the perfect balance of good conditions, fewer crowds, and moderate prices, late March for skiing or late June for hiking are exceptional times to visit.
